Naidu Defends Sabbam's Illegal Construction!

Last year, TDP president and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu had strongly resisted the attempts to demolish illegally constructed riverfront residence at Vundavalli by the Guntur civic authorities and got it stopped by approaching the court.

On Saturday, Naidu strongly resisted the demolition of yet another illegal construction belonging to former MP Sabbam Hari in Visakhapatnam.

The construction was a bathroom of Sabbam’s residence which came up in a portion of the plot belonging to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

The TDP chief wondered why the authorities had to take up demolition during the midnight hours. Readmore!

“When a former MP had to face such severe harassment at personal level, then what about the common public,” he asked.

Naidu’s son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh also opposed the demolition of Sabbam’s property without any notice.

“Jagan Reddy is suffering from an anti-social personality disorder. The main symptom of this disease is demolition without a purpose and indiscriminately,” he alleged.

The GVMC authorities, however, said the demolition of portion of Sabbam’s building was carried out following a complaint from the colony residence on September 5.

The documents had clearly showed that the former MP had encroached the park site with an extent of 212 square yds.

“We have served the notice on Sabbam Hari. Since he was not willing to accept the same, the notice was pasted on the wall of the building. As the building owner has not complied with the notice given, demolition was taken up,” the authorities said.
