Naidu can't bring TDP to power: Kesineni

For quite some time, Telugu Desam Party’s parliament member from Vijayawada Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani has been sulking in the party.

While he has been facing stiff resistance from the local TDP leaders like Bonda Uma and Nagul Meera, he is suspecting that party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been behind the revolt against him and encouraging his younger brother Kesineni Chinna against him.

Against this backdrop, Kesineni made sensational comments against Naidu in an off-the-record conversation with media in Delhi.

He alleged that Naidu was surrounded by a coterie of leaders and that the boss was listening to them, ignoring the genuine suggestions. Readmore!

Kesineni made it clear that the TDP won’t be able to come to power in Andhra Pradesh in the next elections either, as Naidu has neither capacity nor calibre to bring the party to power.

“He doesn’t like the people who call a spade a spade. He won’t believe their suggestions. He will listen to the words of only brokers and loafers,” he said.

The Vijayawada MP said Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh, who defected from the TDP to Bharatiya Janata Party would turn an Eknath Shinde for Naidu.

“The TDP might get 50 to 60 assembly seats in the next elections and if it happens, Ramesh would hijack them on the lines of Eknath Shinde and ruin the TDP,” he said.

About his own political future, Kesineni said he had no interest in continuing in politics. There was a talk that Naidu might field him for the assembly elections, but there was no response from him.

The MP’s comments created a sensation in the party, though nobody has reacted to his comments so far.

Interestingly, Kesineni has been actively participating in the party activities for the few days and even praised Naidu after the recent parliamentary party meeting.

It remains to be seen what decision he would take, if Naidu takes serious note of his comments and pulls him up.
