My Mother Cried After Watching 'Deepavali'

Rustic rural drama ‘Deepavali’ is headed for release on the 11th of this month, marking the auspicious occasion of Diwali. It is the first straight Tamil film (Kida in Tamil) from ‘Sravanthi’ banner.

The director of the film RA Venkat has a few interesting tidbits to say before the release.

“I worked as an office boy at a director’s office in 2003 and then became assistant director for another director. I believed how much ever grand a film might be, the audience will only connect with emotions” he said.

“Sravanthi Ravishore sir asked for audio recording of the script and I was shocked when he agreed to do the film. A big producer doing my film really surprised me. He worked with only stars in recent times and him doing my film now thrilled me.” Readmore!

“Deepavali is not my real life story, as it is. It has shades of incidents in my life. After watching my film, my mother started crying. Sadly, Poo Ramu sir couldn’t watch the film as he passed away and same with my grandmother who passed away after Covid.”

Deepavali is an emotional tale of a grandfather, his grandson and their pet Goat. Ravikishore sir trusted me and it’s a pleasure to work with him, the director said.

Venkat says he has narrated the plotline of his next film to Ravikishore and it could be with a big hero, more details of which, will be out once the script is locked.
