Newton (2017)
Language:
Hindi
Director: Amit V. Masurkar
Starring: Raj Kumar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, Raghubir Yadav and others

This is one of the lesser known gems from the Bollywood industry. The film appears to be a satire on our democracy, but sadly it is the truth that most of us are unaware of. Readmore!

A dutiful election officer Nutan (aka Newton) Kumar (Raj Kumar Rao) is hellbent on holing a free and fair election in a village where the voters are not aware of any political leader or their party symbol.

Newton is bullied by the local goons and faces various obstacles in performing his duty. Does he succeed in doing so?

Newton has an offbeat vibe to it, but it is very engaging and also hard hitting at the same time. It is one of Raj Kumar Rao’s earlier films before he became a bankable box office star.

Newton is an important film that needs to be watched.

Oh My Kadavule (2020)
Language:
Tamil
Director: Ashwath Marimuthu
Starring: Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh, Vijay Sethupathi, Vani Bhojan, Sha Ra, Santhosh  and others
Streaming On: Zee5 India

Oh My Kadavule is one of the most trending movies on social media platforms as it found wide acceptance among users across the nation. It is a regular romance drama with a fantasy spin to it.

The film talks about we ignoring the beauty and greatness of what ‘God has actually designed for us’ in search of something we don’t have. Director Ashwath delivers a strong message without missing out on entertainment.

Despite being a fantasy, OMK has a theme we could instantly connect with, just like Samantha’s Oh Baby. Most of us want a second chance in life, but do we actually need it? Are we so blinded to see what is already in front of us?

Oh My Kadavule is not just an entertaining romance comedy but also an eyeopener to many. Watch it.
