Nellore district politics has gained prominence in the upcoming elections due to several clashes.
However, the YCP faces a setback as key leader Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy's defection to the Telugu Desam Party causes internal turmoil.
Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy is now tasked with Nellore Parliament responsibilities.
The YCP's plight stems from a dispute over the Nellore City Assembly seat, where Prabhakar Reddy aimed to nominate his wife, Prashanthi Reddy, but faced opposition from CM Jagan.
Consequently, both Prabhakar and Prashanthi joined the Telugu Desam Party. Surprisingly, the TDP allocated the Kovuru Assembly seat to Prashanthi Reddy, shifting the dynamics in the region.
Despite expectations of non-cooperation from TDP's Polamreddy Srinivasula Reddy, his allegiance shifted to Prashanthi Reddy. Allegations of Prashanthi purchasing the Kovuru constituency ticket from Polamreddy for Rs 20 Cr have stirred controversy.
TDP activists in Kovvuru express disappointment that their leader was sold out to Prashanthi Reddy and left them jobless.
TDP's assumption of an easy victory in Kovvuru faces doubt amidst controversies surrounding Prashanthi Reddy's ticket allocation and the disappointment of TDP cadre of this region who are not happy to see the sudden spike of Prashanth Reddy and her faction who came from YCP.
