Konda to campaign against her ex-boss in AP!

Firebrand Telangana Congress leader and current Endowments, Women, and Child Welfare Minister, Konda Surekha, is likely to campaign for Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Sharmila in the neighboring state in the upcoming assembly elections.

Once a staunch loyalist of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, Surekha later became a fervent supporter of his son, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Following the death of YSR, Surekha took the lead in launching a signature campaign supporting Jagan, advocating for his declaration as the Chief Minister.

She organized Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra in parts of Telangana and faced opposition from Telangana proponents. Readmore!

After Jagan formed the YSR Congress party, Surekha joined him along with her husband Murali but unsuccessfully contested the assembly elections from Parkal.

Subsequently, she distanced herself from Jagan and quietly left the YSRCP, confining herself to Warangal district.

While she was briefly associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, she later returned to the Congress.

Recent reports suggest that Surekha will campaign for the Congress led by Sharmila in Andhra Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections, as directed by the party high command.

Sharmila is aggressively targeting her brother, and Surekha, having worked with him in the past, is familiar with the intricacies of the YSRCP.

Therefore, her involvement is expected to intensify the political dynamics in the upcoming elections.
