As expected, firebrand leader from Warangal and former minister Konda Surekha and her MLC husband Konda Murali have decided to call it quits to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and make a home coming into the Congress party.
Surekha, who wrote to TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao setting Sunday as the deadline for getting answers to her queries as to why the party was sidelining her family, came before the media on Tuesday.
She said she would take her course of action since she had not got any replies from the TRS high command to her letter.
She wrote yet another strongly-worded letter to KCR stating that he had humiliated her by not giving any appointment to meet him in the last four years.
“He had refused to merge the TRS with the Congress on the pretext that he had to wait for four hours to get Sonia’s appointment, which he said was an insult to the self-respect of the Telangana people. But the same gentleman has not been giving appointment to us even after waiting for four years,” she said.
She alleged that KCR had betrayed the people of the state by not implementing the promises he had made during the elections.
“He talks of Telangana self-respect, but he mortgaged the same before the Andhra people. Why did he order state funeral to former Andhra MP Nandamuri Harikrishna who had strongly opposed Telangana? Why did he allot 450 square yards of precious land to the actor? Is he a freedom fighter or a Telangana martyr?” she asked.
Surekha also accused KCR of insulting women by not taking even a single woman into the cabinet and also denying them due share in the party tickets.
“When my father died, he didn’t even call me, but he went to the residence of my rival MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao when a similar tragedy happened in his family,” she pointed out.
She called upon the people to defeat KCR and his family members in the coming elections.
