KCR's Boons: Strength Or Weakness?

With the clock ticking for the GHMC elections, the TRS party and its supreme commander K Chandrasekhar Rao are gearing up. KCR released the party manifesto and showered the people of Hyderabad with various sops.

While some are encouraging, others are surprising. For instance, he announced that those who are using less than 20000 liters of water need not pay the bill. This can be taken as a plus or minus.

Had he announced bills need not be paid it would have made the middle and lower class people happy and that would have been a plus.

At the same time, since he made the announcement now, it looks as if he did this because election is coming which is a minus. Readmore!

He has also announced electricity waivers for laundry, saloon and Dhobi Ghat, cancelled motor vehicle tax for the months of Corona pandemic lockdown. He has also announced sops for industries as well as the cinema industry.

Now, let us look at his other promises which were rather surprising. He said he will integrate Musi river with Godavari and also develop boating from Bapu Ghat to Nagole. Well, everybody knows what a stinking mess Musi has become.

Similarly, he declared an express metro rail will be set up for Shamshabad airport. If only he announced a timeline, it would have worked. That way KCR has given boons for Hyderabad elections which are more than what he promised during Assembly elections.

He has also hinted about going to the next level and play a role in the Centre politics. He is also trying to woo those parties who are against BJP and set a new Front.

KCR also mentioned since their party is in power they are the ideal choice for the development of Hyderabad and BJP sitting in the Centre will not do anything.

While on one side, KCR is showering a lot of boons even the BJP and Congress are not far behind. So, it is now left to the Hyderabadis to decide who they want to see in power.

Overall, KCR seems to have an edge for various reasons and his boons are more of strength to their party and chances of victory.
