The sacking of senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Eatala Rajender from the cabinet of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has led to the talk of a possible reshuffle of the cabinet.
According to party sources, the chief minister who has tested negative for Covid-19 on Tuesday, would be back into action in a day or two both in the party and the government.
Even his son K T Rama Rao who has been in the hospital for the treatment of Coronavirus is said to be recuperating well.
Sources said KCR might go in for a minor reshuffle of the state cabinet to fill up the gap of Eatala.
“He might not go in for a largescale reshuffle at this stage when the discontent is brewing in the party over the sacking of Eatala. There might not be any sacking of any minister at this stage,” a party leader said.
Speculations are rife that KCR might induct Jadcherla MLA C Lakshma Reddy into the cabinet and might entrust him with the portfolio of medical and health.
Lakshma Reddy was in the KCR cabinet between 2014 and 2018 and held the health portfolio, taking over from another sacked minister Tadikonda Rajaiah.
There is also a talk that KCR might take his daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha into the cabinet and reshuffle a few portfolios. But it is unlikely, as KCR knows it would lead to further criticism from various quarters that he was promoting his family members.
It would also lead to the criticism that Eatala was made a scapegoat only to accommodate his daughter. And KCR does not want to allow such a talk at this stage, sources added.
