The fight for the by-elections to Huzurabad assembly seat has picked up momentum with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi announcing Gellu Srinivas Yadav, a young leader belonging to Backward Classes, as its candidate to fight against former minister and BJP candidate Eatala Rajender.
As things started getting up, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao roped his nephew finance minister T Harish Rao, the most-trusted trouble shooter, into action in Huzurabad to take on Rajender in the coming elections.
All said and done, Harish Rao enjoys a lot of credibility among the people and his words carry a lot of weight.
Though Rajender was once a close associate of Harish Rao in the past, both of them are now in the rival camps and Harish would have to strike back strongly against Rajender.
Even before KCR officially announced the candidature of Srinivas Yadav, Harish Rao plunged into action and began touring of Huzurabad assembly constituency with a rally in Jammikunta and Illanthakunta.
It was for the first time that Harish Rao toured Rajender’s constituency after the latter resigned from the TRS.
Addressing a rally, Harish Rao said the welfare and development would be possible only with TRS.
“Let Rajender explain what he would do, if he wins the election. How can a BJP leader bring development in the constituency? He is cheating himself and the people by raising the bogey of self-respect,” he said.
He also wondered what Eatala can do as an MLA when he could not do anything for the people as a minister.
“I can quote several welfare schemes to be implemented in Huzurabad, if TRS wins. Let Eatala disclose one scheme which he can implement as a BJP MLA,” he challenged.
Harish also found fault with Rajender for using abusive language against KCR, who had given him political life and made him six-time MLA. “His tone and tenor has changed after joining the saffron party,” the minister said.
Harish is expected to stay back in Huzurabad till the election process is completed. Apparently, KCR entrusted with him the task of securing victory for the TRS in Huzurabad.
