The outcome of the exit polls conducted by various agencies are learnt to have pushed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao into a state of dilemma as what strategy he has to adopt in the coming days.
KCR, who was dreaming to play a major role in the national politics and bring about a qualitative change in the country’s administration, is wondering what he could do in the coming days, in the event of the return of Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party with thumping margin.
If the BJP falls short of magic figure by a few seats, the TRS would get some breather and can expect to play a major role at the Centre.
Since the BJP will have to depend on the alliance partners, he can push for a couple of cabinet berths besides securing funds to the state liberally.
But, if the BJP itself gets absolute majority without depending on the allies, KCR might stay away from the BJP as he would not have much importance at the Centre and might have to face the same situation as TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had to face between 2014 and 2019.
So, the TRS chief has called for a meeting of all senior leaders of his party at Pragati Bhavan on May 23 to discuss and finalise strategy to be adopted post the Lok Sabha elections results.
He is expected to disclose his mind at the meeting, after taking suggestions from the leaders.
