"Kalki 2898 AD," the epic sci-fi action film starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, has struck gold at the North American box office.
As the film enters its second weekend, it has broken another record by becoming the fastest Indian movie to gross $14 million.
This achievement sets the film on track to surpass the North American collections of other major Indian releases, including Jr NTR and Ram Charan's "RRR" ($14.8 million), Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" ($15 million), and Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" ($15.23 million).
If "Kalki 2898 AD" can maintain its momentum this weekend and outperform Hollywood releases such as "Despicable Me 4," "Inside Out 2," and "A Quiet Place: Day One," it could become the highest-earning Indian film in the US.
Currently, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" holds the top spot with a lifetime collection of $22 million, followed by "Pathaan" with $17.45 million.
With the 4th of July holiday approaching, the film's collections are expected to receive a significant boost.
The extended weekend is anticipated to draw more audiences, potentially pushing "Kalki 2898 AD" past the $15 million mark in record time.
Impressively, the film has managed to surpass the lifetime box office numbers of other Indian releases within just the first 10 days of its release.
