Jana Reddy Quitting Cong To Join BJP?

Senior Congress leader and former minister Kunduru Jana Reddy is all set to give a rude shock to the already beleaguered Congress party in Telangana by quitting the party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

This is the rumour that has been doing round in a section of media since Saturday morning.

According to these rumours, Jana Reddy has already been in touch with the BJP top leadership and has agreed to join the saffron party soon.

It is learnt Jana Reddy, who is presently taking rest at a resort in Kerala, would be leaving for New Delhi on Monday and formally join the BJP. Along with him, former MP and senior actress Vijayashanti also would be joining the BJP. Readmore!

Jana Reddy has been lying low ever since he lost the assembly elections from Nagarjunasagar in 2018 assembly elections and has not been taking part in the meetings of the party seriously.

At one stage, he pitched himself for the PCC president post, but the high command has not given much response.

There were also reports that he would retire from active politics and bring his son Raghuveer Reddy into active politics.

But since the Congress has been completely decimated in the elections, Raghuveer did not evince interest in fighting the elections on behalf of the Congress.

After the death of sitting MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah recently, there was a talk that Jana Reddy would send his son into the BJP to contest the elections from Nagarjunasagar, since it would be the best launching pad for the latter.

But the BJP leadership reportedly requested Jana Reddy that it would be better he contested the elections on behalf of the BJP, because he still had a lot of respect among the people.

After a lot of brainstorming, Jana Reddy agreed to join the BJP and contest the polls, sources said.
