Senior Telangana Congress leader and Pradesh Congress Committee working president T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, who announced that he would be quitting the party soon, seems to be a man of confusion now.
Soon after his resignation threat and letters to Congress president Sonia Gandhi early this week, some senior party leaders tried to convince him to stay put in the party and wait for a few days.
But subsequently, there has been no major support coming from these seniors, who have their own interests in the party.
He is now saying he is waiting for a response from Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi and depending on their response, he would take a call on his resignation.
On Friday, Jagga Reddy even announced that he would hold a massive public meeting at Sangareddy on March 21 with over a lakh of people, for which he would invite Rahul Gandhi. He declared that he would announce his future of action at the meeting.
One wonders what further course of action it would be, if he is inviting Rahul Gandhi.
“Will he announce resigning from the Congress, in the presence of Rahul Gandhi?” a senior Congress leader asked.
At the same time, Jagga Reddy says he won’t join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi nor has he any plans to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“If necessary, I will float my own regional party. I don’t mind any other Congress leader will join me, but even if I have 50 people behind me, I will go ahead,” he said.
