It looks like the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning a nationwide campaign against Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the alleged Rs 371 crore state skill development corporation scandal.
Soon after returning from London, Jagan has closeted with his party senior leaders, Crime Investigation Department officials, legal experts and other campaign managers of the party and the government to discuss the strategy.
While ensuring that Naidu remains behind the bars as long as possible, Jagan has also decided to launch a massive campaign across the country exposing Naidu’s alleged corruption in the scam.
“Just like the corruption cases of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Laloo Prasad Yadav’s fodder scam, Mamata Banerjee’s Shardha chit funds scam and Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scam that hit the national headlines, Jagan wants to see that there is a nationwide discussion on Naidu’s skill development corporation scam,” sources said.
Hitherto, the YSR Congress party leaders and the CID officials confined themselves to addressing press conferences and leaking information to the select media about the scam only in Andhra Pradesh.
Now, they have decided to highlight the issue at every major city in the country. To begin with, CID chief N Sanjay, along with additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy, are planning to address the national media in Hyderabad on Thursday.
“In the next step, they would also address the media in New Delhi sometime later, to see that the Naidu scam gets nation-wide attention. This would pre-empt the move of the TDP to get sympathy at the national level on the arrest of Naidu in the scam,” sources added.
