Jagan Govt To Spend Rs 540 cr On 3 Paediatric Clinics

The Andhra Pradesh government had decided to spend Rs 540 crore to establish three paediatric care centres in the state.

The three centres would come up at Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and between Vijayawada and Guntur.

Each centre would come up with an estimated cost of Rs 180 crore, with world class infrastructure.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed the state medical and health officials to establish special paediatric wards in all government and private teaching hospitals in the state.

Paediatric wards or beds would also come up in the area hospitals and the primary health centres all over the state.

These measures are planned in the wake of the third wave of Covid 19, which is assumed to take its toll on the children.

Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy told the bureaucrats to get the child care medicine and equipment ready in advance if the third wave hits.

He also wanted the health department to get ready to engage paediatricians and other child health care works in the event of third wave hitting the state.
