IYR faults Jagan on PRC, staff plans strike in Feb

Even as the state government employees in Andhra Pradesh are gearing up for a long-drawn agitation against the latest pay revision, former Andhra Pradesh chief secretary I Y R Krishna Rao found fault with chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for blaming it on the state financial position.

Krishna Rao took to Twitter to take a dig at the Jagan government for saying that it was not able to give better pay hike to the employees because of the state financial position and that the employees should understand the constraints of the state government.

“The chief minister should have thought about the financial problems in the implementation of promises, before preparing the party manifesto. It is not correct to say now that the promises cannot be implemented due to financial constraints,” the former chief secretary said.

He wondered whether Jagan would dump the remaining promises made in the manifesto, because of financial problems. He tagged YSR Congress party and Bharatiya Janata Party as well to his tweet. Readmore!

Meanwhile, representatives of the employees’ associations held a meeting under a single umbrella at the AP NGOs’ Bhavan office. They would meet the chief secretary later and submit a notice, asking him to withdraw the GOs and implement the old PRC.

The associations have chalked out an action plan for the next 10 days and if there is no response from the government, they would go on indefinite strike from February 7 or 8.
