I've to borrow from Brahmani to buy car: Lokesh

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and former Andhra Pradesh Nara Lokesh on Wednesday admitted that he is not an earning member of the family and has to borrow money from his wife Brahmani if he wants to buy anything.

Participating in the Stree Sakthi programme at Mangalagiri, Lokesh said his house is a classic example of women power.

“My mother Bhuvaneshwari is a role model for my family. She, along with my wife, is bearing the burden of my family business Heritage group,” he said.

Stating that he was proud of his wife Brahmani, the TDP leader said he had to depend on his wife to buy anything. Readmore!

“If I want to buy a car, I have to get the finance from Brahmani,” he said.

Lokesh said these days, womenfolk are playing a key role in earning money and leading their families.

“They have the willpower and dedication not only to stand on their own feet, but also to run the entire family,” he said.

The TDP leader said the TDP had been making all efforts to encourage women, irrespective of whether it was in power or not.

“Our objective is to empower women on all fronts. We don’t have to be in power to do that. Our party has been extending training to women in self-employment schemes,” he said, adding that if the TDP comes to power in future, it will provide employment opportunities to lakhs of people.
