It's matter of time to join NDA, says Naidu

Despite repeated assertion by the Bharatiya Janata Party that there is no question of joining hands with the Telugu Desam Party again, party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has not given up hope to return to the BJP fold.

Naidu indicated his mind in this regard once again while participating in a discussion on the topic: “Times of Transformation: The Need to Keep Fighting,” conducted by Republic TV channel, known for its pro-BJP stand, on Tuesday.

When asked whether the TDP would support the NDA if such a situation arises, Naidu said he would always support Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decisions for the country’s development.

“It is only a matter of time that the TDP would join the NDA,” Naidu said. Readmore!

The TDP president showered praises on Narendra Modi and said both of them were on the same page with regard to development of the country.

“I completely in sync with the vision of the Prime Minister. He is working for the development of the country and I am striving for the development of the Telugu people,” he said.

Naidu made it clear that he was ready to work within his limitations along with the Prime Minister in tune with the latter’s line of thinking.

“Modi is displaying to the world what India’s strength is. He is leading the country with a vision to make it a super power,” he said.

Asked why the TDP had opposed Modi in the past and come out of the NDA, the TDP president clarified that even in the past, he had not opposed Modi’s policies.

“I came out of the NDA only on the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh, which had become a sentiment in 2019. I fought against the Centre on that issue,” he said.
