Isolated, Can't Control Tears, Says Sharmila

A tweet posted by Y S Sharmila, daughter of former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, on his 12th death anniversary on Thursday, turned out to be a topic of heated discussion in the media circles.

“You inspired me to strive for achieving success despite being isolated; forge ahead despite facing humiliation; face troubles courageously and always share affection among others. You stood by me always, encouraged me and took care of me. You used to shed tears when I was in pain, but now, I am not able to control my tears. I love and miss you, dad” – Sharmila posted on Twitter.

The emotional tweet by Sharmila led to the talk that she was feeling neglected and isolated after the death of her father YSR.

“Her comment that she has become a loner and that she was forging ahead despite facing humiliation is meant to reflect her agony within the family,” a senior journalist who has been closely watching the developments said. Readmore!

Ever since Sharmila decided to launch her own political outfit YSR Telangana Party, she has not been getting along well with her brother - YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Though both the brother and sister were seen together along with their mother Y S Vijayalakshmi for memorial prayers for their father at YSR Samadhi at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on Thursday morning, they did not see eye to eye with each other.

Against this backdrop, Sharmila’s tweet indicated that she was feeling neglected by her brother. However, Sharmila has the backing of her mother Vijayalakshmi, who attended the launch of her political party in Telangana on July 8.

Interestingly, Jagan also tweeted to pay tributes to his late father but did not express any personal feelings.

He said: “Though it has been 12 years since father departed us physically, he has been there in the hearts of the millions of people who continue to treat him as their own family member. His smiling appearance and affectionate touch are still alive in every heart. Father has been my inspiration in every step I take and every thought I make and he is leading me from the front.”
