Devara is NTR's next film after RRR, directed by Koratala Siva. It’s a large-scale pan-India action film and marks Jhanvi Kapoor’s debut in Telugu cinema, with music composed by Anirudh.
But no one seems to be concerned.
The movie is set to release on September 27. For a film of this magnitude, a gap of at least two to three weeks between major releases is usually expected.
Typically, release dates are decided after assessing a film's performance. However, Tollywood appears unfazed, with several films already scheduled for October.
People’s Media Factory is bringing two films to theaters in October, one of which is releasing just a week after Devara.
Gopichand has announced the release of Vishvam, and Dil Raju is also preparing to release a film. Allari Naresh’s Bachala Malli is being considered for release as well.
Additionally, Rajinikanth’s pan-India film Vettaiyan is set to release within two weeks of Devara.
On top of that, several smaller films are slated for release during this period. This may be because Devara is releasing well before Dussehra, allowing other films to capitalize on the festive season.
But what gives these filmmakers confidence? Do they believe Devara won’t dominate theaters until Dussehra?
So far, the promotional content for Devara has been decent, though not extraordinary.
The music album hasn’t been groundbreaking, leaving only the trailer and the film itself to make a real impact. If the movie turns into a blockbuster, some of the above-mentioned films may get postponed.
