The film "Kalki 2898 AD," starring Prabhas, is undoubtedly the most anticipated release of the year in Indian cinema.
With its genre and director Nag Ashwin's vision and talent, the film holds the potential to achieve global success.
The teaser and promotional materials for the film indicate that Nag Ashwin is sparing no effort to ensure its success on a global scale.
However, the film's release has been postponed due to the polling date.
Originally scheduled for May 9th, "Kalki 2898 AD" has been indefinitely delayed because the polling date for the Telugu states has been set for May 13th.
The production team is now considering alternative dates.
According to distributors, producer Ashwini Dutt is contemplating a new release date of May 30th, while Bollywood distributors have been informed that the film might be released in June. As of now, there is no official announcement regarding the new release date.
Sources suggest that producer Ashwin Dutt is apprehensive about the possibility of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy returning to power, as he may not approve the significant increase in ticket prices desired for this film.
Despite YS Jagan's cordial relationship with Vamshi of UV Creations, Prabhas' close associate, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister is unlikely to favor Ashwin Dutt, a staunch supporter of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and a known adversary of Jagan.
Dutt is concerned that postponing the film until June or later, coupled with the potential return of Jagan to power, could eliminate any opportunity to raise ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh.
Conversely, if Chandrababu Naidu regains power, it would be advantageous for Dutt.
Reportedly, Dutt's primary concern revolves around the outcome of the Andhra Pradesh elections.
