HBD Vijay Deverakonda: A Journey Sans Hurdles

Vijay Deverakonda has always been tipped to be the next big thing in Tollywood and despite the elusive blockbuster, he is still carrying this image.

On the occasion of his 35th birthday today, here's a look back at his journey.

Vijay started off with Pelli Choopulu but the real deal for him was Arjun Reddy which was a path-setting blockbuster and attained cult status. Then came the big-grossing Geetha Govindam.

After a dry run, Vijay got a reprieve with Kushi which grossed good revenues. There's a hiccup with Family Star but Vijay has exciting films in the offing. Readmore!

Apart from these films, Vijay is also proactive in philanthropic works as he donated Rs 1 lakh 100 people amounting to Rs 1 crore during Kushi.

He later sent 100 people on a trip to Himachal Pradesh as a part of the Devarasanta program.

During the Covid times, he even launched Middle Class fund to help middle class families and economically weaker pockets. Then there's the First Job program as a part of which he gave first jobs to 40-odd youth.

Vijay has lined up films with Gautam Tinnanuri, Ravi Kola of Raja Varu Rani Garu fame and then the film with Rahul Sankrityan who earlier made Taxiwaala with VD.

More interestingly, A-lister filmmakers like Mythri Movie Makers, Dil Raju, and Sithara Entertainments are readily making films with him, showing the youngster's box office prospects are very much intact.

The good thing about Vijay's immediate line up is that he is working with talented young filmmakers who have shown technical abilities with their previous works. This positive reinforcement is the need of the hour and he is working accordingly.
