Has KCR changed his style of functioning?

If one would have noticed, there is a considerable change in the style of functioning of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao these days.

In the last seven years as the chief minister of Telangana, KCR had adopted a unique style.

He hardly used to meet his party MLAs, leaders and even his own cabinet colleagues, except when he wanted to meet them.

He was not accessible to anybody, except on important occasions. Readmore!

There were no regular cabinet meetings, which are actually mandatory at least once a month to take crucial administrative decisions.

There were hardly any regular official reviews, except on his pet subjects like Kaleshwaram project or Rythu Bandhu etc.

During his seven-year stint, KCR also did not take many field visits.

His only favourite field visits were to Kaleshwaram and Yadadri temple to oversee the constructions.

He might have done at the most a dozen field visits during his tenure, that too, for places like Gajwel or Siddipet or Karimnagar.

Of course, during the election time, he made whirlwind tours to several places in Telangana to address election rallies.

He had also not been going to Telangana Bhavan to look into the party activities.

And with regard to the opposition parties, the chief minister cared a damn for them and had not given them any appointment even to submit a representation on any issue inside or outside the assembly.

He never held any all-party meetings on any issues.

But of late, there seems to be a perceptible change in the style of functioning of KCR.

He has been giving audience to his party MLAs and ministers and party leaders from districts and listening to their issues.

The chief minister has also started conducting official review meetings on various issues and surprisingly, even his ministers have been holding the official meetings which was never in the case till recently.

The cabinet meetings are being held more frequently than in the past.

And he is also conducting the meetings with collectors, additional collectors and other district officials on palle pragathi and pattana pragathi issues.

KCR has also begun touring villages, interacting with the people and addressing the local meetings.

He is also focussing on other developmental works instead of only on Kaleshwaram or Yadadri.

What is more surprising is that KCR has also decided to take the opposition parties into confidence in decision making.

On Friday, he gave an appointment to the Congress delegation for the first time and spent time with them.

And he offered to hold an all-party meeting on Dalit empowerment scheme on Sunday.

All these clearly indicate that KCR is a changed man for reasons known only to him. How long he would sustain this image remains to be seen.
