There is a popular adage in Urdu: "Cheel udi to bhains udi (when the eagle flew, they say the buffalo flew)", to describe how fertile one’s imagination can be and how rumours are floated.
The latest victim for such kind of rumours is Kalvakuntla Himanshu Rao, son of Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao and grandson of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
There had been a lot of talk that Himanshu, who is still in his early teens, has high ambitions of entering politics and emerge as the political scion of Kalvakuntla family. Some even projected him as the future chief minister of Telangana.
The reason for such a talk was the way KCR was encouraging Himanshu in public functions. In the past, Himanshu used to appear even on political platforms and official programmes of the Telangana government along with KCR.
He even hit the headlines by presenting clothes to Lord Rama in Sri Rama Navami celebrations at Bhadrachalam a few years ago. He was seen a couple of times even in the state secretariat.
However, for quite some time, Himanshu has been keeping away from the official functions and has stopped making public appearances. However, he has been taking part in various social activities and has become quite active in the social media promoting environmental issues.
On Tuesday, however, Himanshu posted a surprising message on his twitter handle: “I just wanted to clear something. I will never enter politics, because I have my dreams to pursue and goals to achieve. Thank you, hope you have a great day.”
So, it is clear that Himanshu is not going to be the political heir of KCR or KTR. So far so good. But his social media post led to further speculations as to what he is going to do and what his dreams and goals are.
Within hours, there were rumours in a section of media that Himanshu is evincing interest in entering Telugu film industry and KTR is already in touch with some directors in Tollywood to see that his son is introduced to films.
Some even went to the extent of reporting that noted producer Dil Raju is planning to make a film introducing Himanshu under the direction of Vamsi Paidipalli. So, the rumour mongers have decided that Himanshu is going to be the next big hero in the Telugu films.
