Gossip: Chiranjeevi to meet Jagan soon?

The latest comments made by megastar Chiranjeevi at the pre-release event of his upcoming film Waltair Veeraiah held at Visakhapatnam has generated a lot of euphoria among the YSR Congress party leaders and cadre.

While YSRC general secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijay Sai Reddy posted a tweet welcoming Chiranjeevi’s announcement that he had purchased a plot on Bheemili road in Visakhapatnam and would soon construct a house there to become a local citizen, many other party leaders congratulated the megastar on his decision.

According to sources, many YSRC leaders personally called up Chiranjeevi and appreciated his decision, as it would endorse the proposal of YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to make Vizag as the executive capital.

Some others are learnt to have called on him personally to congratulate him. On Monday, YSRC legislator from Pileru in Chittoor district Chintala Ramachandra Reddy went to the megastar’s residence in Hyderabad to invite the latter to his son Sai Krishna Reddy’s marriage on January 27. Readmore!

During his half-an-hour stay, Reddy also congratulated Chiranjeevi for deciding to settle down in Visakhapatnam. He conveyed the message from the chief minister that the latter is also extremely happy with the megastar’s decision.

Sources said Jagan is contemplating inviting Chiranjeevi for a luncheon meeting very soon. The chief minister wants to meet the megastar not just to congratulate him on his decision, but also to extend any exemptions or permissions required for him to construct the house on Bheemili road.

Apparently, Chiranjeevi has also expressed interest in meeting Jagan and inviting him to watch the movie Waltair Veeraiah on Sankranti day. If the meeting happens, it will definitely create ripples in the political circles.

Though Chiranjeevi has made it clear several times that he won’t get back into active politics again, his meeting with Jagan at a time when his brother Pawan Kalyan is fighting a bitter battle with the YSRC government will assume a lot of significance politically, sources added.
