The film that proved to be a clean entertainer in recent times is 'Ashoka Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam'.
The talk was good and the target audience called it a hit. The cast and crew also celebrated the positive response from the public. But it couldn't withstand the gale of Sarkaaru Vaari Paata that was released on the subsequent Friday.
Though the content is good, the timing of the release is also very important. AVAK makers made a mistake in this regard. They killed their 2nd week run by releasing just a week before Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
So, though the film received applause, the collections are not impressive as of now. Adding to that it had to sacrifice several theaters for Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
Almost all the theaters in the two Telugu States are grabbed by SVP and only few are kept for Acharya in unavoidable circumstances.
KFG2 is still holding some theaters by virtue of its strength. Only Vishwak Sen's film became a scapegoat amidst these biggies.
The ticket rates for AVAK are not increased. So, though the openings are impressive, it couldn't see any profits even by now. It's almost close to breakeven at present.
We have to see if this film can cross that mark with the meager number of theaters it has in hand.
