Gaddar Awards 2025: A Genuine Selection This Time?

This year, the Gaddar Awards have been widely appreciated for being fair, genuine, and based purely on merit.

Many observers say the awards remind them of the way the Nandi Awards used to be presented in earlier years, recognizing true creative excellence rather than mere popularity.

Unlike many popularity-driven awards, this edition appears to focus on artistic quality and meaningful cinema.

The award for Best Film went to Raju Weds Rambai, with Dandora receiving the Best Second Film honor and The Pre-Wedding Show being named the Best Third Film.

Thandel also won the National Integrity Film award, and these selections have largely been accepted without dispute.

In other categories, Little Hearts won Best Debut Feature Film, while Sankranthiki Vastunnam received the award for Best Entertaining Film.

Court was honored as the Best Social Message Film, and Mirai won the award for Best Special Effects Film.

Overall, the results appear balanced and credible, with very few objections from the film community.

Even the Special Jury Awards appear genuine and well-deserved. 23 won Best Special Jury Film, Chaitanya Jonnalagadda received Best Male Actor for Raju Weds Rambai, Ananthika won Best Actress for 8 Vasanthalu, and Roshan was honored as Special Jury Hero for Champion.

Overall, films like Champion, Raju Weds Rambai, and Mirai secured the highest number of awards this year, emerging as the biggest winners at the ceremony and dominating several major categories.

In the previous years, the Gaddar Awards, which were presented for several years in succession, often appeared confusing, and some of the selections did not seem entirely convincing to many observers. Certain awards raised questions about their genuineness and clarity in the selection process.

However, this year the situation looks quite different. Many feel that the awards have been presented in a clear, transparent, and well-organized manner.

The jury seems to have done a commendable job in carefully evaluating the films and performances before announcing the winners.

As a result, most of the selections appear balanced and widely acceptable, giving the impression that the awards truly recognize deserving creative work rather than arbitrary choices.

This renewed credibility has helped restore confidence among film followers and industry observers, who now see the Gaddar Awards, the prestigious filmawards from Telangana Government, as a more meaningful recognition of cinematic talent.
