Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has once again sought to gain an upper hand over his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu.
Though Telangana is a smaller state compared to Andhra Pradesh, KCR proved that he is more liberal and magnanimous compared to Naidu in extending financial assistance to the rain-battered state of Kerala, which suffered heavy loss of lives and properties due to unprecedented floods.
In the evening, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister held a review meeting on the flood situation in the state, besides discussing the worsening conditions in Kerala.
He announced a cash relief of Rs 5 crore to Kerala, besides other material.
He also appealed to the people of the state to donate liberally to the Kerala CM relief fund and posted the link on his twitter for the people to send cash donations.
Within a couple of hours came an announcement from the Telangana chief minister.
He announced Rs 25 crore towards flood relief to Kerala, besides huge quantity of food, clothes, medicines and other relief material to the affected victims.
He also appealed to the people to make liberal donations to the Kerala CM Relief Fund.
It clearly showed that KCR wanted to prove his supremacy by donating five times more than what Naidu announced.
After all, Telangana is a richer state than AP!
