Finally, TDP's Ramana Moves To TRS!

The long wait seems to have ended in Telangana over defection of TDP Telangana state unit president L Ramana.

Ramana is meeting TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The deal is almost stuck and Ramana, who dropped the yellow flag a couple of weeks ago, is all set to be wrapped with pink shawl.

Ramana’s exit would cost dearly for the TDP in Telangana, where the party is almost on the intensive care unit (ICU).  Readmore!

The party had seen leader after the leader walking out in Telangana after the 2019 defeat in Andhra Pradesh.

For all practical purposes, the NTR Trust Bhavan, the party’s headquarters, is almost defunct and has only the IT wing working from there for both the Telugu states.

With the last leader, Ramana, bidding adieu, there is nothing for the party to talk about its existence in Telangana.

It was in 1982, the TDP was born in Hyderabad and after four decades, the same TDP is vanishing in the same Hyderabad.

Though not in the same velocity, the TDP is also witnessing defections in Andhra Pradesh.

Four MLAs have already left the party and have become associate members of the ruling YSR Congress.

Much before this happened, three MPs, all from Rajya Sabha, have left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre.

The TDLP had merged with the TRS in Telangana, while the TDPP had merged with BJP in Delhi.

It is only in Andhra Pradesh, the TDLP exists in the era of power politics with its leader, Chandrababu Naidu, residing in Hyderabad!
