Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday described the federal front proposed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a “brainchild” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Naidu made these comments while addressing the party functionaries through a teleconference from Amaravati.
He said Modi was the actual brain behind the federal front plan of KCR aimed at splitting the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party votes in Andhra Pradesh.
Describing it as a flop show, Naidu said the meeting of TRS working president K T Rama Rao with YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the name of federal front was actually a conspiracy against the people of Andhra Pradesh.
“There were no takers for KCR’s federatl front. So, he offered a friendly hand to Jagan to destabilise AP,” he alleged.
He wondered how Jagan could join hands with KCR, who had insulted people of Andhra Pradesh.
He pointed out that KCR had created hurdles for Andhra Pradesh in getting Special Category Status SCS granted by the Centre.
"KCR insisted that SCS should be given to Telangana also. Thus, the Centre went back on its promise to AP", he said.
Naidu also charged KCR with trying to instigate caste feelings among people of Andhra Pradesh for political gains.
"The KCR government removed 26 castes from the backward classes list in Telangana. They are coming to Andhra Pradesh to shed crocodile tears for BCs here,” he alleged.
