Ex-CBI JD In Steel Plant Agitation!

It has been a long time since one has heard about former joint director of Central Bureau of Investigation V V Lakshminarayana, better known as J D Lakshminarayana.

After snapping ties with Jana Sena Party following his humiliating defeat in the 2019 general elections from Visakhapatnam, Lakshminarayana has not been visible much in the public except occasionally in seminars and other meetings.

One doesn’t know what exactly had happened to his campaign for farmers, which he had launched before 2019 by touring several parts of the state.

He seems to have dumped all those issues and confined himself to his personal activities. Readmore!

On Saturday, however, Lakshminarayana appeared all of a sudden in Visakhapatnam to extend his solidarity with the agitating workers of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant against the proposed privatisation by the Centre.

Surprisingly, the former CBI joint director met Telugu Desam Party legislator from Visakhapatnam (north) and former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and discussed the mode of agitation against privatisation of steel plant.

Apparently, Lakshminarayana is said to have discussed with Ganta on the proposed formation of a non-political joint action committee to be formed by the latter.

Ganta said he had already submitted his resignation from his assembly membership and would take up a full-fledged agitation against privatisation of VSP.

Speaking to reporters later, Lakshminarayana said it was time chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy take initiative and lead an all-party delegation to meet the Prime Minister for stalling the privatisation move.

“Only if all the parties fight together, the centre will take a positive decision,” he said.
