Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba’s family entertainer Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is set to hit the screens on the 30th of this month.
The team held a pre-release event, attended by the entire ENE Repeat cast as special guests.
Producer Srujan Yarabolu addressed the chatter about the film being a remake, saying, “We’ve been transparent from the start. WE had already told that it’s a remake. A story can be told in many ways. I assure you all that you won’t be disappointed. This film will feel completely fresh.”
Vishwak Sen, who graced the event, recalled his bond with Tharun Bhascker.
“I had already begun Falaknuma Das when Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi hadn’t released. I used to run behind Tharun asking him to do a role. He finally agreed to do it. Then, he became super busy as an actor. He stood by me during my toughest times. This is Eesha’s film. There’s a lot more in it than what the trailer shows. ENE shoot has been going on for a month now.”
Tharun Bhascker hailed Eesha as the hero of the film and praised director Sajeev.
“Sajeev is all heart- you can see how beautiful people from Godavari are. If my dialect works, it’s because of Sajeev and Vinod. This film has many heroes. The music’s success shows how fresh the film is.”
Speaking about Srujan, he added, “Srujan was my junior in school. Balancing a job, family, and producing a film in an unstable OTT phase is a huge achievement. Today, producers are the real heroes. Amid all these people, I’m just a character artist. Eesha embodies Shanti — her journey is one of silence. Fighters are always silent. This film is for such women. Hats off to all those women.”
Eesha Rebba thanked the ENE team for attending.
“I’ve known Srujan for years. He chose a film with genuine content. Casting me was a risk since many prefer actors with commercial hits. Sajeev is extremely dedicated. Because of Sajeev and Nandu, the film feels very authentic. The music is beautiful. Vivek and Anup, despite not knowing Telugu, promoted the movie wonderfully. I always wanted to work under Tharun’s direction, but ended up acting alongside him instead. He prepared intensely. I still hope to be directed by him someday. This is a story every couple will relate to- a film for the whole family.”
