After a gap of 18 days, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy will resume his padayatra from he took the break in Vizianagaram district.
And the remaining leg of the padayatra is going to be entirely different from what it was so far, if what the party leaders sya has to be believed.
Jagan is going before the people for the first time after the attack on his life at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25.
While the Telugu Desam Party sought to play down the murder attempt as a small incident stage-managed by the YSRC leadership to give political mileage to Jagan, it has definitely generated a lot of sympathy for him, as the YSRC leaders successfully could take into the public that how TDP tried to sabotage his padayatra by conspiring to eliminate him.
And when Jagan steps out of his camp to resume his padayatra, the YSRC leaders have planned to give it an emotional touch, which he would carry forward till he completes the padayatra in Srikakulam district.
“Our leader will definitely make the attack on him a big issue during the padayatra and will raise it in every public meeting hereafter. Any negative comment from the TDP will only prove counter-productive for them,” a YSRC leader said.
As if to giving an indication to what the murder attempt is going be Jagan’s emotional weapon, his mother and party’s honourary president Y S Vijayalakshmi on Sunday announced that she was planning her son’s life in the safe hands of the people and it was for them to protect him from any further attacks.
“It was a providential escape for him and he was saved only because he carries people’s blessings with him always. If the Leader of Opposition has no protection in the VIP Lounge of the airport, what is the scale of law and order in the state?” she asked.
She said there were failed attempts to attack Jagan at Guntur and in Godavari districts and he had managed to escape them because of the presence of large number of people.
“Since the crowd would be very less at the Visakhapatnam airport, they could carry out the attempt,” she alleged.
“He will be safe with the blessings of people and Almighty and justice will prevail,’ she said in a voice choked with emotion.
