Heroes are not meant to be heroes only on screen. They should show heroism in real life too. Sacrifice is part of true stardom.
Without producers, there is no industry, and without buyers, there is no business.
Stars know this very well, and that is why, when required, some of them have gone beyond their remuneration to support the system.
At the forefront of such gestures are Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas and Suriya.
During the difficult phases of Radhe Shyam and Adipurush, Prabhas stood firmly by his producers. The industry knows how many commitments he signed during that period.
By agreeing to do films for big banners and giving written assurances, he helped ensure smooth releases and protected the producers from bigger losses.
Suriya too has done the same. During the recent release of Kanguva, only he and those who took his support know how many assurances and commitments he gave to safeguard the project.
Among all of them, Pawan Kalyan stands on a different level. Many say Hari Hara Veera Mallu faced issues partly due to him, but what he did after that deserves nothing but respect.
He gave up his remuneration for the film. He requested a major banner to stand guarantee for him before the financiers. Later, he even mortgaged his own house and personally cleared the loan.
Not just that, when a buyer in one area suffered heavy losses, Pawan quietly helped him with nearly â¹1.5 crore without making it public.
Now, many feel it is Nandamuri Balakrishna’s turn to step into this line. Buyers of Akhanda 2 are facing severe losses.
In Andhra Pradesh, losses are reportedly between 50 and 60 percent. In one major area, losses are expected to touch â¹5 crore, and in another key territory, nearly 50 percent loss seems unavoidable.
Balakrishna has already reduced his remuneration to some extent, and Boyapati too has adjusted his fee.
It is said that Boyapati took only around â¹10 crore for his previous film, but for this one, even after reductions, buyers claim he may have received close to â¹25 crore. Balakrishna too is believed to have taken a solid remuneration.
In this situation, if Balakrishna and Boyapati come forward and adjust even â¹10 crore each, buyers could recover around 25 percent of their losses. Yes, losses would still remain, but the burden would be lighter.
If Balakrishna shows this kind of generosity, buyers will raise the slogan “Jai Balayya” louder than ever.
