Senior actor and Telugu Desam Party legislator from Hindupur Nandamuri Balakrishna is known for calling spade a spade. He doesn’t hesitate to tell whatever he feels in his mind.
At a time when the entire world, not just India, is eagerly waiting for the arrival of a potential vaccine for Coronavirus pandemic that has taken lakhs of lives in several countries, Balakrishna virtually donned the role of a doctor and researcher and declared that talk of vaccine is just a humbug.
Participating in a film function in Hyderabad on Monday, Balakrishna declared that Covid-19 is a peculiar disease which cannot be controlled by any vaccine.
“There is no vaccine for Coronavirus and it will not be discovered in future. It is a deadly virus,” he said.
“All that we need to do is to be cautious and careful. May be, Coronavirus will become part of our lives. We have to be mentally and physically strong,” he said.
The senior actor advised the people not to take bath with cold water, though it is generally believed that taking bath in cold water during the month of Karthikam would wash away all our sins.
“Forget about getting any virtues, people will get pneumonia if they take bath with cold water. And it is very dangerous during this pandemic as people will fall prey to Coronavirus,” Balakrishna said.
He said Coronavirus would confuse one’s mind and kill people.
“If break the rules of the nature, it will teach a fitting lesson to us. Coronavirus pandemic is a classic example for the same. So, let us not get carried away by superstitions. We don’t know how long this pandemic will continue and how many lives it would consume. So, let us be cautious,” he said.
