As the number of cases and deaths due to Coronavirus disease in Telangana has been on the rise with every passing day, the state high court has taken a serious note of the indifferent attitude of the TRS government led by KCR in disclosing the facts to the people.
Finding fault with the government for hiding facts in the daily media bulletins, the state high court on Thursday directed that the testing of suspected Covid-19 patients be stepped up and also disclose the facts to the people through media bulletins regularly.
It also asked the government to disclose the figures of Covid-19 cases ward-wise under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits and furnish the details to the local colony and community associations.
The court also took serious note of several doctors falling prey to the Coronavirus due to lack of adequate personal protection equipment and face masks.
State director of public health G Srinivasa Rao and Gandhi Hospital superintendent Dr Raja Rao were summoned to the court.
The director of public health said as man as 79 doctors have tested positive for Covid-19 till now, but there are enough number of PPE kits available to the doctors. The testing is being done in as many as 54 places, he said.
The court directed him to make extensive campaign about increased testing facilities. It also sought to know why the government cannot go in for mobile testing facilities. It directed that the government submit a report on the steps taken by June 29.
