Dhurandha actor Akshaye Khanna’s performance in his recent film has drawn widespread praise, with many describing it as impactful and memorable.
Following the appreciation, several Telugu production houses reportedly approached him for roles in upcoming projects.
However, discussions failed to progress smoothly.
According to industry sources, Akshaye Khanna quoted a remuneration of â¹15 crore. In addition to the fee, he is said to have laid down a strict condition; that he would appear on screen only while wearing a wig. This demand reportedly caught many producers off guard.
This is not the first time such a condition has surfaced.
During earlier talks for Drishyam 3, the actor was reportedly keen on wearing a wig despite continuity concerns arising from Drishyam 2. Owing to this mismatch, the makers are said to have decided against moving forward with him.
Sources suggest that Akshaye Khanna strongly believes the wig is his lucky charm and prefers not to appear without it.
While his acting ability continues to command respect, these conditions are now becoming a major talking point within the Telugu film industry.
