Dadi Upset With Jagan, But Has No Option

Former minister from Anakapalle and YSR Congress party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, who was known for frequent jumpings from one political party to the other in the past, is upset again.

Reason: he has been feeling neglected in the party for quite some time and nobody, including the government officials, is bothering to invite him to any official functioning.

“Though I am supposed to be the general secretary of the YSRC, I have not been consulted in the formation of Anakapalle district nor have I got any invitation at the inauguration of the district, either from the party or from the government,” Dadi lamented.

While welcoming the formation of Anakapalle district, the former minister regretted that nobody was interested to take suggestions from him, though he had represented Anakapalle several times in the past. Readmore!

“I had to remain content by watching chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in television news channels,” he said.

Dadi, however, said he would not quit the party, even if he was kicked out of it.

“I will respect the party and work for the ideals of Jagan, despite facing so much humiliation in the party,” he said.

In the same breath, the former minister alleged that there were a lot of irregularities and corrupt activities in the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, but the chief minister has turned a blind eye towards them.

“Thousands of acres of government lands are being encroached upon in Visakhapatnam. The land encroachers, police and revenue officials are colluding with one another to grab invaluable lands,” he alleged and advised Jagan to check these irregularities.

Dadi had been associated with the TDP for a quite long time and was, no doubt, one of its important leaders in north coastal Andhra. However, over a period of time, he lost his hold. He lost the elections twice in 2004 and 2009.

In spite of that, he was given the MLC seat by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. But when he was denied the MLC for a second term, Dadi came out of the TDP and joined the YSR Congress party before the 2014 assembly elections.

When the TDP came to power in 2014, Dadi started distancing away from YSRC and finally quit the party in 2015 making wild allegations against Jagan, saying the latter had no respect for seniors and he was made to suffocate in the party.

Later, he started sending feelers to Naidu that he was ready to get back into the party. But, Naidu did not give any response to Dadi. Frustrated with his failed attempts, Dadi again started attacking Naidu.

He even tried to join Jana Sena, but Pawan Kalyan ignored him after realizing that he was of no use. Just before 2019 elections, Dadi along with his son Ratnakar Rao returned to the YSRC party which he had criticized in the past.

Since then, he had remained silent as he did not get any posts. Now, he is back to his old game of criticising the party to get into prominence.
