Cops Dampen Sharmila's Grand Plans!

The grand plans of Y S Sharmila, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy to announce the launch of her new regional party at a huge public meeting in Khammam on April 9, goes for a toss.

Sharmila, who had been holding confabulations with her followers and supporters, was planning to address a massive public meeting in the name of Sankalpa Sabha at Khammam with not less than one lakh people on April 9 where she would announce the party.

On Thursday, too, Sharmila held a meeting with representatives from 33 districts of Telangana to finalise the arrangements for the public meeting. She reportedly gave them specific targets as to how many people she has to mobilise for the rally,

Initially, the Khammam police gave the permission to address the public meeting without any hindrances. But later, they declared that they would have to wait instructions from the government to give a go-ahead for the rally. Readmore!

And on Wednesday, the district police announced that the permission for Sharmila’s rally in Khammam would be conditional. They asked her not to mobilise more than 6,000 people to the meeting on account of Covid-19.

The cops also told her confine the meeting to only for four hours – from 5 pm to 9 pm and the organisers, public and others should strictly follow Covid-19 norms.

If the cops insist on these restrictions, it is better Sharmila not to address any meeting, because the small gathering would certainly be a dampener for her party!
