The Congress party, if voted to power in the coming elections in Telangana, will initiate a probe into all the alleged corrupt deals of Telangana government headed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao in the last four-and-a-half years.
This was asserted by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy at the meet-the-press programme on Monday. He alleged that KCR and his son K T Rama Rao had indulged in several corrupt practices.
“In Mission Bhagiratha, which is nothing but Commission Bhagiratha, the father and son knocked away six per cent commission from the contractors,” he said.
He was answering a query on KCR’s assertion that the TRS would throw the Congress and the TDP leaders behind bars for their corruption in various projects during their regimes.
The PCC chief alleged that KCR had cheated all sections of people in Telangana.
“Right from the day one of coming to power, KCR had been cheating the people. He went back on his promise to make a Dalit the chief minister.
He destroyed all democratic institutions and systems, including executive, legislature and media. The political corruption reached its peak in his regime, as he bought everybody -- from village sarpanch to MP from the opposition parties for his selfish ends,” Uttam said.
Asked if the Congress would make a Dalit as the CM of Telangana, he said: “The Congress does not make such promises.”
