Andhra Pradesh Police have arrested Hyderabad-based stand-up comedian Anudeep Katikala in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with alleged remarks about Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Kakinada I-Town police tracked Anudeep’s phone and detained him while he was visiting family in Prayagraj. He was then brought back to Andhra Pradesh by train.
The arrest follows a complaint filed by a Jana Sena Party leader in Kakinada, accusing the comedian of making offensive comments about Pawan Kalyan during a stand-up performance.
Police sources said the offences are bailable, and Anudeep is likely to be served a notice and released on station bail.
