Can TRS Win Back Settlers' Support?

The recent harsh comments made by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao, his son K T Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao against continued Andhra domination over Telangana are learnt to have proved counter-productive for the party.

In several constituencies dominated by Seemandhra settlers, the comments of KCR and KTR have triggered tremendous unrest among them, causing severe embarrassment to the TRS leaders contesting there.

Especially KCR’s comments that Andhra domination would return to Telangana if the Mahakootami wins, the people of Telangana would have to surrender to Seemandhra migrants and that they should not allow colonial rulers of Andhra have caused severe damage to the TRS prospects.

The TRS candidates made it clear to the TRS leadership that their chances of winning have become bleak with KCR and KTR’s comments. Readmore!

Apparently to undo the damage caused to the party, KTR called for a meeting the people of residential colonies dominated by Andhra settlers at Nizampet to clarify that the comments of his and his father were not against Andhra settlers but against only the TDP.

“They are part of political rhetoric and it is very common during the elections. Please don’t them personally. We will ensure all safety and security to the settlers, as we have been doing all these years,” he said.

It is learnt several people expressed their ire openly against the TRS government notwithstanding the clarification from KTR.

They demanded that KCR tender open apology to the Andhra people in Telangana by issuing a statement. However, KTR did not give any such assurance to them.
