Brahmin groups attack Nagababu, fans counter-attack

The anger displayed by spiritual speaker and scholar Garikapati at megastar Chiranjeevi at the Alai-Balai event organised by Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya in Hyderabad on Thursday is snowballing into a big controversy.

While Garikapati’s outburst protesting against Chiranjeevi posing for photographs with his fans on the dais was totally unwarranted, there was no reason for the mega brother Naga Babu to poke his nose into the whole episode by making unnecessary comments.

Despite Garikapati’s outburst, Chiranjeevi behaved in the most dignified manner and displayed unusual respect for the former. That itself was enough for Garikapati to bow his head before the megastar.

But by making needless comments on the episode, Nagababu triggered a needless controversy. Now, the Brahmin groups have reacted strongly to the mega brother’s tweet. Readmore!

All India Brahmin Federation vice-president Dronamraju Ravi Kumar commented: “It is an illusionary field, which doesn’t differentiate between make-up and Avadhanam. The comment that a traditional spiritual guru, who is enlightening the society with his daily preaching, is jealous of the popularity of a filmy trader who knows only to do business with his acting and has forgot doing good to the society, is nothing but spitting at the sky.”

Without taking the name of Naga Babu, Ravi Kumar wondered how a person, who plays second fiddle for others, could claim himself to be a music maestro and makes comments on twitter.

But mega fans have also reacted strongly on the twitter to the comments made by Garikapati and demanded apology from him. Some of them even threatened to stall his “pravachanams.”

Needless to say, Garikapati-Chiranjeevi episode provided a lot of masala for the television channels and digital media. They conducted debates, wherein the speakers found fault with Garikapati for showing so much impatience.

“After all, Chiranjeevi is Padma Bhushan and has crores of fans. Compared to him Garikapati is nothing. He is just Padmasri and has a few thousand listeners. That’s all,” a film critic said, participating in a debate.
