BJP won't come to power, says KTR

Several pre-poll surveys have indicated that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won’t be able to get more than eight Lok Sabha seats in the coming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana; yet, the party is dreaming of playing a crucial role in the formation of next government at the centre.

On Monday, BRS working president expressed view that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be able to form a government at the centre in the next parliamentary elections slated to be held in 2024.

KTR made this comment, while speaking about the central assistance to the state government’s proposal to expand the Hyderabad metro rail project to on different routes radiating from the core city area.

He said the state government hoped that the Centre would extend financnail assistance to the expanded metro rail project. Readmore!

“Even if the Centre does not give any funds, we will raise money on our own,” he said.

But the most significant political comment made at this juncture was that if the Centre did not give funds, there would be a coalition government at the Centre in 2024 and “we (BRS) will be playing a crucial role in it.”

Interestingly, this is the first time that the BRS working president had made such a comment about a coalition government to be formed at the Centre and the BRS playing a key role in it.

But the point is the BRS is neither part of the NDA nor that of the opposition parties’ alliance. Who will take the BRS into the coalition is a million dollar question.
