BJP to flare up anti-incumbency against Naidu!

Bharatiya Janata Party leadership is aware that it has little stakes in Andhra Pradesh after it parted ways with the Telugu Desam Party, in the wake of strong sentiment among the people for special status which Narendra Modi government has rejected outright.

The party knows that leave along coming to power in the state, it is difficult to retain even the existing number of seats in the 175-member assembly. But it wishes that the TDP should not come to power in AP at any cost.

Since it cannot directly have alliance with the YSR Congress, it has to do something to facilitate its victory through a different means.

It is learnt the BJP is planning to work out a strategy to flare up an anti-incumbency atmosphere in the state by targeting the TDP and its president N Chandrababu Naidu. Readmore!

Starting with the public meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 6, the BJP campaign managers will focus on exposing corruption in Naidu regime at all levels, non-fulfilment of promises made to the people, nepotism, neglect of agriculture sector, lack of employment opportunities, wasteful expenditure and other such issues.

“Instead of splitting the anti-establishment votes, the BJP will try to intensify the negativity prevailing against the Naidu government so that the TDP will lose the elections. It is immaterial for the party whether such increased anti-incumbency will help the YSRC or Jana Sena,” a party leader said.

BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav also asserted the same.

He said anti-incumbency was increasing among the people against TDP's governance and to avoid it, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is making false allegations on BJP.

He said Narendra Modi was going to tour in AP to extend support to the people.
