BJP MLA apologises on remarks on YSR

A day after making highly deplorable comments referring to the tragic demise of former chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, newly-elected MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party from Dubbak M Raghunandan Rao had to take back his comments.

“I strongly regret the comments which I had inadvertently made yesterday referring to Dr YSR. I admit he was a great leader and I admire him very much. On many occasions, I appreciated the pro-poor schemes introduced by the great leader,” Raghunandan Rao said.

Stating that he was withdrawing his comments which he had made unintentionally, the BJP MLA appealed to the fans of YSR, who had been trolling him for the last 24 hours, to forgive him and end the controversy.

At a media conference on Sunday, Raghunandan Rao said: “In the past, a person died at Pavuralagutta after speaking in a manner similar to what KTR (state municipal administration minister) is saying now, and he will also meet with the same fate.” Readmore!

Rao said the BJP can and will answer in the same manner as the TRS leader was doing.

“If you use the right language, the resonance will reflect the same. You can’t expect good language from us when you use harsh language,” he said.

Within no time, the BJP MLA’s comments went viral in the social media, drawing a lot of criticism from the fans of YSR and also YSR Congress party cadre.

Andhra Pradesh government’s digital director and YSRC social media in-charge also lashed out at Rao for making unsavoury comments on YSR and demanded an apology from him.
