BJP attack on Jagan only benefit Naidu!

In its eagerness to grow into a potential political force in Andhra Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party has started attacking newly-elected YSR Congress party government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for its decisions.

It started with day one of Jagan government when it took the decision to review power purchase agreements entered into by the previous Telugu Desam Party government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu.

Within a gap of two weeks, the BJP leadership at the Centre dashed off letters to Jagan government criticising its move to review PPA.

It also made other central agencies like NTPC and Solar Power Corporation of India to revolt against Jagan government. Readmore!

Then state BJP leaders came down heavily on Jagan’s decision to demolish Praja Vedika, a conference hall adjacent to Chandrababu Naidu’s residence at Vundavalli.

Then came the critical comment from the Centre stating that there were no irregularities in the Polavaram project works. And when Jagan terminated the contract of Navayuga, the BJP leadership strongly criticised Jagan.

In the latest instance, BJP state president Kanna Laxminarayana criticised the closure of Anna Canteens by the Jagan government and also the withdrawal of five per cent quota given to the Kapus by Naidu government under Economically Weaker Sections quota.

What the BJP is forgetting that its criticism against Jagan on all these issues will only help the Telugu Desam Party, since it amounts to endorsing Naidu’s decisions and coming to the support of the TDP’s arguments.

Naturally, the TDP leaders have started taking advantage of the BJP’s criticism on Jagan’s decisions and are claiming that the Centre itself has given clean chit to Naidu.

So, instead of benefitting the BJP, it is basically helping the TDP to regain its ground!
