'Baahubali 2' Record Under Attack With 'Pushpa 2'

It is already known that the North America box office record set by "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" for Indian cinema is close to be beaten by "Dhurandhar".

As a result, "Dhurandhar" will be the highest-grossing Indian film in the USA shortly, with "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion"  moving to second place.

Not only that, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s worldwide record position, which currently stands at second place among Indian films globally, with first being "Dangal", is also under threat. This challenge is not from "Dhurandhar" but from "Pushpa 2".

The film Pushpa 2 is releasing in Japan, and the collections from that market will be added to its worldwide total. Readmore!

At present, there is only a narrow difference of around Rs 15 crore between "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" and "Pushpa 2".

While Baahubali 2 collected approximately Rs 1800 crore gross worldwide, Pushpa 2 stands at about Rs 1785 crore, as per sources.

Director Rajamouli will now have to try to regain his lost positions with his upcoming film "Varanasi", starring Mahesh Babu.

Meanwhile, "Dhurandhar 2", which is scheduled for release this March, is expected to create a massive impact at the box office and may even surpass the collections of "Dhurandhar".

It remains to be seen where Indian cinema heads next and which films ultimately take the top positions in worldwide collections among these biggest releases.
