Atchan Naidu too eager to face elections!

It is a known fact that the Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has lost every election it has contested in the last two and a half years in Andhra Pradesh.

Whether it is by-election to Tirupati parliamentary seat or Badvel assembly seat or MLC elections or gram panchayat elections or MPTC/ZPTC elections or the municipal elections or municipal corporation elections, the TDP suffered major setbacks.

Except around 10 per cent of the local body seats, the TDP has drawn blank everywhere. Even in Naidu’s home constituency Kuppam, the TDP faced a miserable defeat.

Yet, the TDP is putting up a brave front and is day-dreaming of returning to power in the state at any cost and its leaders are issuing statements that the party is ready to face the assembly elections anytime they are held and will come out with huge majority. Readmore!

On Wednesday, TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president Kinjarapu Atchannaidu predicted that there could be mid-term elections to the state assembly anytime and whenever they are held, the TDP would get not less than 150 seats.

“Let us not relax hoping that there are still two years to go for the assembly elections in the state. Jagan is very unpredictable. There is no surprise, if he suddenly gets up from the sleep and announces dissolution of the state assembly,” he said, while addressing a party workshop at Hanuman Junction.

He said, the TDP workers therefore do not have the luxury of relaxing but should be ready to face the elections anytime. He hoped that all sections of people, who suffered a lot during the YSRC regime, would support the TDP.

Atchannaidu said the YSRC party had managed to win the last assembly elections based on sympathy votes following the murder of Jagan’s uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy and also because of the non-cooperation from the state government employees.
